Web Wednesdays – each Wednesday we will feature a website that we’ve come across while in our process of searching for inspiration, the latest trends, or learning about anything and everything we can get our hands on that interests us.

Dropmark

“Drop it like it’s hot.” At least that’s what Dropmark tells you to do when you use their product. Dropmark is the new, innovative way to share documents and collaborate on projects. As of March 1st, Dropmark became available to all users after successfully completing their beta testing this past year. Their interface is wonderfully simple to use; drag photos, videos, documents, websites, text (essentially anything that you would like) from your desktop and place it into the specified collection on your browser window. The files are automatically uploaded and you have the choice to share it with anyone that you like or keep it to yourself. You can also invite collaborators, who can can upload their own files to the same collection. This makes project management much more efficient. And if you’re looking to make the workplace a little more inspiring, you can also create playlists or podcasts in your dropmark account to share with your co-workers.

Every collection has a built-in RSS Feed, so anytime something new has been added, users in that collection will be notified. Dropmark is now also integrated with Courier, available through the app store, which makes it so you can add to a collection without even opening your browser window. Sharing files has become so easy over the past few years, and now there are so many options to use, but if you are looking for an easy, efficient way to share files and collaborate on projects, go with Dropmark. Below is a video, made available through Vimeo, to show you how it all works.

Known as ‘The Modern Way to Work Together,’ Asana is a new task management system, that I stumbled upon the other day. It allows users to invite up to 30 members to a workspace for free, where you can begin to organize your business in a few simple steps. You can view your teams tasks and priorities as they are assigned, to help your business run more smoothly and efficiently. Asana is not only limited to the workspace though, you can also collaborate with friends or groups that you belong to, while keeping everything separate. There is also a great activity feed for every task, sort of like an instant message, where you can write down your thoughts and ideas for the other project members to read and comment on. It really heightens the project efficiency. Think of it as, you are having a business meeting without even leaving your office.

What’s also great, for those workaholics out there, Asana also has a mobile app available for both droid, iphone and ipad. So you can stay on top of your projects on the go. Essentially it’s a great customizable to-do-list for those of you that just need a little extra help with staying up-to-date on your tasks.

With the growing number of social network sites out there, it may have become a little stressful to manage all of your personal accounts in one day. Especially if you’re trying to make a name for yourself by posting on Twitter, Facebook, Linked in, Dribble, Behance, Pinterest…need i go on?? Well, the other day I came across a great site that is somewhat ironic, but extremely helpful for those of us who need five extra minutes in the day. The site is called Hoot Suite, and essentially it is a social network for managing social networks, pretty crafty eh?

Hoot Suite allows users to manage multiple social profiles at once. They can write up messages in advance that Hoot Suite will post to all of your active social profiles at the time that you specify. So, if you plan just right, you can send out a message across multiple platforms during times when the majority of your audience will most likely be online, exponentially improving your business’ online presence. Hoot Suite currently has over 3 millions users, including Martha Stewart, FOX News, The Onion and even Dolly Parton (ahh I’ve caught your attention now). It currently has two versions available for use, Pro and Basic. The Basic Version is available for Free Sign Up, so check it out!

This Web Wednesday, we are featuring Join.me. A great site that makes screen sharing on the go super easy. It especially comes in handy for company training, or when you need to attend a meeting and you can’t actually be there. The user emails the generated number to begin screen sharing. You also have the option to create a chat while screen sharing. The chat options allow for both one on one chats, or chatting with the entire group. The user can also send files to the computers that they are connecting with, which makes file sharing super easy and convenient. The viewer also has the capabilities of requesting mouse control, which comes in handy when you need to have a spur of the moment meeting.

The apple store has the Join.me app available free for download, which you can access through both the iPhone and iPad. And Android users, fear not! you can also download a free version of the app to access on your phone as well. Enjoy!

Hey Web Wednesday readers, its that day of the week again! This week we are showing off the capabilities of Doodle. It is a great asset to have for those of us that can not keep up with our scheduling and need a little assistance with our time management. Available as an app for smartphones, the program helps set up times for group meetings and will connect to your calendar to help keep track of what times you are available. Doodle currently has 10 million users since going active in 2007, so it certainly has a lot of fans out there. Recent changes to the Doodle App gives the user more personal capabilities, including customizing the look of your Calendar Page.

If you’ve been following our blog posts lately, it seems very similar to the Tungle App that was posted back in November. However, Doodle appears to have a more simple interface for some users and Doodle also functions with the use of polls. Similar to the Facebook Polls, you can create suggestions for meeting times and send it out to your colleagues, which makes it a lot easier to get everyone together at one time. So if you’ve been struggling with your Calendar updates lately and need a system that can keep up with all of your appointments, I would certainly suggest this app to help you out.
