Colorado Springs Philharmonic
The Colorado Springs Philharmonic has been the mainstay of musical excellence and culture in Colorado Springs since 1927. With over 5,500 subscriptions and an estimated concert attendance of 163,000, it’s clear that CS Phil is doing things right. When they decided to produce their first-ever annual report for the 14-15 fiscal year, they needed a partner who could elevate their look while still working within their existing brand guidelines.
What sets the Colorado Springs Philharmonic apart is their involvement in their community. In addition to their regular concert series, CS Phil presents free outdoor concerts throughout the summer at various parks. They continually enrich the lives of children with their Free for Kids, Philharmonic Kids, and Link Up programs. We, too, believe in investing in our community, so we knew we wanted to highlight all the good work that CS Phil is doing. We utilized CS Phil’s library of rich imagery along with their brand colors and typography to set the tone of the piece. These assets, married with our creative eye, created a happy union.
So much happens over the course of a year, especially for an organization the size of the Colorado Springs Philharmonic. We knew that fitting 365 days of classical music and community events into 12 pages wouldn’t be easy, but we were determined to deliver a finished product that we, the musicians, donors, and Colorado Springs community could be proud of.
Annual reports are, by nature, informative. For a creative agency, informative often translates to text-heavy which is a terrifying phrase for a designer to hear. Thankfully, our finesse and expertise means that we can take a lot of important information and deliver it a way that’s beautiful and streamlined. The result is a 12-page book that’s professional, impactful, and doesn’t leave a single detail of their banner year out.
