Its not like Google does not have enough on their plate, they are adding yet another thing – Google TV (view official Google TV video below).
Google TV is a new experience made for television that combines the TV you know and love with the freedom and power of the Internet.
Google’s premise is to bring the web to your living room via your TV. Hopefully Google will do a better job than Apple did with this idea (i.e. Apple TV). Google TV service is going to be free of charge, but we are sure that a premium subscription options will follow in the future.
Google already has few manufacturers lined up to start producing the device for Google TV (first Sony then Samsung coming on later in the year). The device will have to compete with similar digital video players (“video boxes”) like Roku and Boxee.
Google TV is to be released in the U.S. late this year and for the rest of the world, early 2011.
