Web Wednesdays – each Wednesday we will feature a website that we’ve come across while in our process of searching for inspiration, the latest trends, or learning about anything and everything we can get our hands on that interests us.
Wow! I can’t believe it’s the last day of November already (don’t forget to check back tomorrow for our December Wallpaper). For this week’s Web Wednesday I am posting about, Pinterest.com; a newly developed social network site connecting people through common interests. Once you receive the invitation to log in, you can start creating your own ‘Pin Board’, a collection of interests that you have found online or through the Pinterest site that other people have posted. Some people have used it to plan weddings, and find creative DIY home projects. Others have used it for their daily dose of inspiration (ehem like myself) while others use it to collect yummy recipes. The possibilities are endless and the site is amazingly simple to use. If you are looking for something specific you can use the search bar to help narrow down the results or you can view what is ‘trending’ on the main Bulletin Board. You can also add the Pinterest Button to the browser that you are using, so anytime you find something creative to share with the world, click the button and it will be added to your Pin Board.
You can also download the free Pinterest App from the App Store and access the site through your smartphone. This site is also great for businesses to promote the products that they sell. By putting the Pinterest Button on your product page, any visitor to your site can click to add the product to their Pin Board and generate more activity for your site.
